STAMP is a new student club for anyone who loves life abroad, or is just a little curious. Japanese students, international students and people from all over hang out, share food and culture, and team up with companies when a good chance comes along. Join from anywhere in Japan, online or in person.

We launched in September 2026. Right now it is just our founder, and no events have happened yet. We are looking for the first people to build this with us.

What is STAMP

Three things we do

The name comes from passport stamps — you get one when you leave a country and when you enter one. So we go both ways: making friends, sharing Japan, and bringing the world into Japan.

Founder's story

Why I started STAMP

In spring 2023 I started at a university in Los Angeles. Keeping up with classes in English was a real struggle, and I also did an internship at a local company.

The next year the yen dropped, my tuition shot up, and I could not continue — so I came back to Japan. Now I study at a university in Tokyo.

Since then I kept thinking: even without living abroad, can I make friends with people from other countries and do things together?

Japan has international students, companies from abroad that want to come here, and people who want to share Japan with the world. So I started STAMP as one place for all of that.

It is still a blank page. I am looking for people who want to build it from zero and make it fun!

Questions people ask

Do I need to speak Japanese?

Nope. We mix Japanese and English. You can help Japanese students with English and pick up some Japanese yourself. Gestures work surprisingly well too.

Can I come to just one event?

Of course. Come check the vibe first and decide later.

I don't live in Tokyo. Can I join?

Yes, from anywhere in Japan. Some things happen online, and if you want to host something in your own city, even better.

Online or in person?

Both. Events are mostly meeting up in person, planning is mostly online. We will decide the balance with the founding team.

How often do you meet?

Honestly, not decided yet. For members, coming once or twice a month would be great.

Member vs. founding team?

Members come to events and have fun. The founding team builds STAMP with us — each person leads an area like events or social media.

Is it OK to come alone?

Totally. Solo or with friends, both are welcome.

Do you work with companies?

If you want to, yes — for example helping companies from abroad that are coming to Japan. If you only want the events, that is completely fine.

Our student team (still forming) can help with market research, localization and Japan-focused social media, project by project. We have not completed a client project yet, so our first partners will shape how we work.
